A dramatic and commanding pair of 1930s Italian Baroque Revival giltwood urn form table lamps with faux candle topper and custom shade.
Exquisitely carved wood body distinguished by elegant stylized serpent handles and deep-relief details throughout. Very well done gilt finish over red ochre ground exhibits a handsomely subdued luster. A section on the back that’s typically out of view is painted to match rather than gilt.
Convincingly rendered stout candle on top is of subtly antiqued moulded celluloid. Includes newer custom empire shade of mottled white paper with hand painted gilt trim.
New wiring and brass socket, hardware, harp, and finial.
Height to top of socket is 19.25 in.; height to top of finial is 27.5 in. Dimensions of individual elements are as follows:

Condition:GoodRewired: Recently rewired, including socket, cord, and plug. Wear consistent with age and use. In lovely antique condition. Fleabites and tiny nicks/wear on edges and a couple light scratches. Structurally sound, with discreet crack on handle and another on body. Worm holes on bases predate fabrication. Shades clean but paper varies slightly.
