This large scale Italian display niche dates to the 1930s-1940s and was acquired from a Palm Beach estate. The piece is hand carved wood with a gold leaf finish and the piece is illuminated.
Note: The backside is not gold-leafed which was typical because of the cost of the gold leafing and if you can’t see it why spend the monies.
Note: Overall dimensions: 42″ height x 21 1/2″ width x 8 1/2″ depth.
Note: Shelf ledge is 9 3/4″ wide x 5 1/2″ deep, though if you measure to the front of the curve, it is 8″ deep.
Note: Requires one candelabra based light bulb, and is controlled by a line-switch.
Note: There are a few hairline cracks in the gold leaf finish and evidence of an old restoration for the cracks, but they do not detract from its beauty.
