Mid Century Naïve Artist Framed Oil on Board, Outdoor Art Fair

I think everyone wishes they could paint at some point or another. Many of us try. Some create something worthwhile and some don’t.

This charming oil-on-board painting is of what appears to be an outdoor art fair, most likely in the city, with lots of references to the 1960’s. Men and women in hats. Men with very narrow ties. Women in fur stoles and dresses.

Is it the work of an expert artist? Probably not. But it is an engaging portrayal of a particular time and place and can still draw the viewer into the piece, after all these years.

This impasto painting is framed in a sturdy traditional gilt frame.
