French, 20th century
Height 70cm, diameter 41cm
Made to complement and display luxury items such as Sevres style porcelain vases, these fine stands are French-made, and date from the early 20th century. They are decorated with rich and pleasing giltwood carving in floral motifs, interlaced with songbirds around the four areas that lie just below the upper surface, which is inset with a small marble disc. The legs continue down in long arcing curves, and are connected with a simple cross design close to the base. Either as stand-alone pieces, but ideally with a suitable pair of objects to proudly display, these objects would make a fine addition to any interior.
