Schaumann’s plywood company was Finland’s first of its kind and was founded in Jyväskylä in 1910. The design of the two chairs is reminiscent of Otto Wagner’s chair B93 (6093) for the Thonet company. Schaumann (November 8, 1857 – November 14, 1911) died just one year after the company was founded and was no longer able to see the expansion of his company.
