This is a German handpainted plaque portrait of Beatrice Cenci after Guido Reni. She was an Italian noblewoman who killed her father, Count Francesco Cenci after he abused her in the 1500’s. Her trial was very known at that time & even today. She was found guilty and was beheaded on 1599. Guido Reni, an Italian Baroque period painter immortalized her with this portrait. In the portrait it is highlighted the delicate features of her face. Under the back is marked Made in Germany and written Cenci-Guido Reni. There is a signature in the left lower corner, but it can not be recognized.
