About RIMA by Mario e Gastone Rinaldi
The Rima company, in Padua, was founded by Mario Rinaldi, father of Gastone Rinaldi designer, in 1916.
In his work as a designer he came into contact with many of the major Italian designers, including Giò Ponti, Carlo Mollino, Alberto Rosselli, Franco Campo and Carlo Graffi, Michele De Lucchi and Marco Zanuso. In 1954 he won the Compasso d’Oro Award with the DU30 chair produced by Rima.
In 1974 he founded the company Thema in Limena. In 1981 his Dafne chair produced in 1979 received a mention at the Compasso d’Oro, as also in 1981 the Aurora. The Saturno sofa is part of the prestigious collection of the MoMA modern art museum in New York.
