Pair of 17th century style Italian wrought / forged andirons 27.5″ H
Heavy forged iron bar wrought into a twisted and curvilinear Baroque form.
Formed and constructed in the period manner with no modern welding.
A 19th century revival of an early form. Candle cup holders on the top and tool holders projected from the front ending in a curvilinear scroll. Substantial log holder braces ending in spiked points. The whole creating an ornamental joining of form and function.
