Tea time has never been so glam. This Royal Crown Derby teacup and saucer are a fabulous way to add a hint of chintz to a table setting. In the Olde Avesbury pattern, this pattern dates back to 1932. It mimics an embroidery pattern by Albert Gregory for Royal Crown Derby. In vivid hues, the design features birds of paradise, peacocks and bouquets of flowers. The teacup has a scalloped rim with an interior design of stylized flowers in red. It’s handle is petite and accented in gold. The saucer is our favorite. It features the same birds of paradise, peacocks and flower designs, with a gold painted rim. In red, stamped at the bottom of both the saucer and cup read, “Royal Crown Derby, Made in England, Olde Avesbury” A crown sits in the middle. “Crown Derby” is also stamped at the bottom of the saucer. “A73 A” is hand painted in red at the bottom on both.”
